FanFic – Vacation Descendants 2

There was nothing more spectacular than locking the keeper in an iron maiden and going all out for a daytime celebration. The building – or what was left of it-suddenly burst into an array of dancing colorful lights. Music blared from the thin walls. While trash scattered the surrounding woods, kids poured out of the front doors. Barely containing them, the doors flew off the hinges.

Banging on trash cans, throwing dirty water out the second story windows, kids jumped around the front lawn without a care, a trio emerged thru the broken doors. The leader dressed in a blue hodgepodge of fabrics, popped off the porch with a flip. Even with a cap on, light blonde strands managed to get in his eyes. Licking his thumb he tucked them off to the side. A boy close by with a cape was caught in the landing, driving the boy back to the ground.

“Hey!Get off!”

The leader snickered and rubbed the heels of his boots on the cape. “Ain’t it a hard knock life.” He maneuvered his way around the chaos.

IT’S HARD KNOCK LIFE- FROM ANNIE

[ORPHANS]

It’s a hard-knock life for us! It’s a hard-knock life for us!

‘Stead of treated We get tricked!

‘Stead of kisses We get kicked!

It’s a hard-knock life!

“Scott! Wait!” The girl called after him.

Dressed in mixed matched orange and white fabrics, she hopped over tussling match and tripped a game of tag passing her.Stringy blonde hair laid heavy on her shoulders. Beside her, their last companion stayed close during the chase. Nightly hair tucked away under a cap, violet eyes keep steady on Scott.

“Come on Aleasa! We don’t have all day!” Scott called back

She heaved. “Please tell me it’s not only me.”

“Never. Never.” The guy smiled

[ALL]

It’s the hard-knock row we ho

Empty Bellies ‘Stead a full

It’s a hard-knock life

Pounding on the side of the house a group of older kids rush into the fray, pulling kids off from one another and shoving most to the ground. The chaos only amplified as many ran from them. The trio kept out of the way, shoving people behind them as the group hurried to make order. At one point one of the older girls called for the trio.

“Thomas!Aleasa! Dammit, Scott! Get over here!”

Scott smirked in her direction. The other two snickered between them.

[THOMAS]

Don’t it feel like the wind is always howlin?

[Thomas and Aleasa]

Don’t it seem like there’s never any light!

[SCOTT]

Once a day, don’t you wanna throw the towel in?

[TRIO]

It’s easier than putting up a fight

They met up around the large tree at the edge of the front lawn, just before the trees. Looking back they smiled as the entire place was shaking. Walls clattering, windows jangling and loud music blistering eardrums with trash being sprayed about in a slight effort to slow order down, Thomas clapped his hands. The older kids made a beeline straight towards them.

[ORPHANS]

No one’s there when your dreams at night are creepy!

No one cares if you grow or if you shrink!

No one dries when your eyes get wet and weepy

The trio got circled around the tree. Thomas and Aleasa readied themselves for a fight while Scott merely smiled widely at them.

[ALL]

From the crying you would think this place’s would sink!

Ohhhh!!!!!!!

Fists go flying and two kids slammed against each other as they charged at the trio. Scott hopped high over them with a smile. Thomas put his charger in a headlock, swinging the kid to the ground and climbing on top to stay in command. Aleasa met her charger with a fist to their cheek. They stumbled next her, The trio then ran back to the house.

[ORPHANS]

Empty belly life!

Rotten smelly life! Full of sorrow life!

No tomorrow life!

Children were slowly but surely being funneled back into the house. With them the trio tried their best to help the traffic in. Sitting on the steps was a smaller child, Young with dark hair, she sat with her head in her hands. Scott paused and sat by her.

[SMALL CHILD]

Santa Claus we never see

[SCOTT, TRULY CONFUSED]

Santa Claus, what’s that? Who’s he?

Thomas and Aleasa pull Scott off the step and into the house, the rest of the lot climbing on each other.

Now inside, Scott stood up on a table in the parlor and whistled. Everyone turned to him, some smiling and some worried.

[SCOTT] (Making a whistling sound and imitating Sir Hooligan)

You’ll stay up till this dump shines like the top of the Chrysler Building!

The children laughed as they ran about the house. Scott directed them to dirty dishes in the kitchen, the floors in the dinning room and the stairs in the parlor.  The other kids followed in line, despite what many older kids were trying to order about. Scott laughed as they tried,

I love you Sir Hooligan

The ground started to shake under the everyone’s feet. Scott hurried through out the house, yelling out orders and shoving people out of the way. Thomas and Aleasa kept the older kids off his trial. The screaming got louder as the shaking got more severe.

“He’s coming! Run! The Devil’s coming” Someone yelled.

(SCOTT)

Get to work! Strip them beds! Scrub that floor! Polish my shoes!

And I mean

Start…..

NOW!

There’s a loud bang that knocks everyone to the floor. Threw the windows vines shot through, shards going everywhere in the rooms. Kids ran, ducked and did whatever else they needed to do to get out of the way. The thorns scrapped like large claws against the weak wood. In the kitchen Thomas was wrapped up and pulled out a bay window. On the second floor, Aleasa was pulled off an older girl in one of the large bedrooms. Scott ran through the third floor with a rush of vines at his heels. A window down the hall was smashed through and Scott swung on the frame up and over onto the roof.

It’s the Hard Knock Life!

ITS THE HARD KNOCK LIFE!!!

He didn’t get far on the roof, the vines snatching his ankle by the thorns. Instead of pulling him back through the window, it dragged him off the roof. Despite his struggle, the vines wrapped around his body immobilizing his entire body. On the front yard,Thomas and Aleasa sat with vines wrapped around them next to a tall white-haired man. Frowning, the green skinned retracted the vines coming from his arms. Scott shared the glare with the man, being slammed to the ground in the last five feet. The vines loosened around Scott as they detached from the old man. Sucking in a harsh breathe, the man slicked a stray white hair back as his arms re-formed into hands and fingers.

 “Scott. Aleasa. Thomas.”

“Morning Sir Hooligan.” The trio responded.

“How was the Iron Maiden sir?” Scott smiled widely.

The man crossed his arms. Thorns dug into the three and they released a set a scream.

“Not so mighty now are you, your highness?” The old man scoffed.

Scott seethed through his teeth, lava burning inside the young man’s veins.

Watch out sir. Let’s not make him angry.” Thomas softy chided.

They watched as Scott’s body contorted within the vines, his pale skin growing blue and then black. The boy’s scream deepened into a low growl.

The thorns dug in more to the trio, pausing Scott’s transformation. They yelled even louder. The man yawned. Amid the yelling. The thorns retracted and slipped off the three and laid on the ground brown and withered. Gasping for breaths, they collapsed together looking up in the silhouette of the man.

“Now if you are done being nuisances, you can get up and go to town for me.”

Scott was the first one up.“What the heck do you want!”

The other two stood up and leaned on each other for support. Thomas sighed, “Come on Scott, don’t push him.”

“Don’t push me.” Scott snickered, his eyes blackened with red pupils. A shiver ran through the two.

Meeting the glare of Hooligan, Scott huffed and rolled his eyes. “What do you want?”

“Two gallons of milk, bread, a screwdriver and a new teapot for the one you broke.” With a harsh look, he turned and walked back to the house.

The three watched in silence as Mr. Hooligan slammed the door shut. For a moment, they lingered. Aleasa looked to Thomas, who looked to Scott. He looked around in the open plain surrounded by a tight line of trees. The noise instantly died from inside.

Turning to his cohorts, Scott took a deep breathe. “Well there’s no point staying around this hell hole.”

Aleasa and Thomas followed him as they traversed down the hillside. It would be miles upon miles before any other points of civilization would be met.
